The official PECOS Phase II implementation date of January 6, 2014 has been solidified by CMS which means providers now have less than 60 days to proactively address problematic physician records to avoid claim denials. After perpetual delays in the enactment of Phase II, we now have a final date where edits will go into effect and providers will begin to see denials for physicians that are not PECOS enrolled. With the PECOS surrogate program now in effect, providers have a stronger chance of getting un-enrolled physicians registered in time to minimize a cash flow crunch as a result of these edits. Don’t wait; this implementation date is not likely to be delayed again.
Join us as Andrea Stark discusses the basics of the PECOS program, how to identify which claims and physicians are affected in your system and what you can do to prevent and mitigate imminent denials
